Why organise climbing with Blyzer?

Climber entries

Climbers enter themselves via a link – they pick a category and your start list is ready without retyping.

Start list

An overview of entries by category and discipline with start order, ready to print or display at the wall.

Results and rankings

Enter tops and zones, climbing height or time and Blyzer ranks climbers in every category.

Season history

An archive of competitions and seasons – results lists and overall cup standings are never lost.

The most common climbing competition formats

Choose the format that fits your event – Blyzer prepares the start list, results and standings. You can set up any format in the wizard in a few minutes.

Race

An individual competition – every climber competes for themselves. In bouldering tops and zones decide, in lead the height reached, in speed the time. For club boulder cups, kids' competitions and school events.

How to: Create race → Configure → categories and disciplines → open entries → enter results → show rankings.

Climbing league / cup

A series of competitions over the season – climbers collect points for their placing in each round and the overall standings add up. For boulder leagues at the wall, regional cups and kids' series.

How to: Create league → Configure → number of rounds and points system → Generate schedule → enter results as you go.

Team competition

Clubs, schools or corporate teams compete as teams – the best results of the members count. Typical for school competitions and corporate climbing events.

How to: Create tournament → Configure → 1 group, no play-off → add teams → enter points.

Speed knockout duels

Two climbers race side by side and the faster one advances in the bracket – from qualification to the final. A spectator-friendly format for speed climbing.

How to: Create tournament → Configure → no groups, play-off only → Seed climbers by qualification → Generate bracket.

Not sure which format to pick?

Our guides compare the formats, give recommendations by number of climbers and routes, and share tips on isolation, start order and boulder scoring.

Tip: For a one-off competition choose a race with categories; for a series of rounds over the season, a league with points.

Climbing – FAQ

How are bouldering competitions scored?

You enter the number of tops and zones (and attempts, if needed) and Blyzer ranks climbers by the chosen scoring – tops, zones and attempts, or points for every boulder completed.

Can the competition be split by categories?

Yes. You set categories by age, gender and level (e.g. kids, juniors, hobby, open) and each has its own start list and rankings.

Is it suitable for a small club or school boulder cup too?

Yes. Even a competition with 20 climbers on one wall gets online entries, a start list and results – no paper scorecards and no retyping.

Can I organise a league with several rounds?

Yes. Create a league, set the number of rounds and points for placings – the overall standings add up automatically after every round.

How much does it cost?

The basics are free – you can create and organise a climbing competition or league at no charge.
