The most common karting race and championship formats

Choose the format that fits your event – Blyzer generates the start list, heats and championship standings. You can set up any format in the wizard in a few minutes.

Race

Timed qualifying or a one-off race – every driver goes for themselves and the best lap time or finishing position decides the ranking. Results by category and overall.

How to: Create race → Configure → categories and scoring method → open registration → enter times.

Season-long championship

A series of events – points by finishing position for every race, running driver and team standings, and a season champion at the end. For clubs, tracks and corporate leagues.

How to: Create league → Configure → number of events and points system → Generate schedule → enter results after each race.

Heats + finals

Drivers are split into heats and advance by finishing position to the semi-finals and the A or B final. The most common format for corporate karting tournaments with a larger number of drivers.

How to: Create tournament → Configure → number of groups and advancing drivers → Generate groups → Generate play-off.

Knockout duels

Two drivers head to head, lose and you are out – a fast bracket at an indoor track or in sim racing, seeded by qualifying times.

How to: Create tournament → Configure → no groups, play-off only → Seed drivers → Generate bracket.

Not sure which format to pick?

Our guides compare the formats, give recommendations by number of drivers and track capacity, and share tips on championship scoring and starting order.

Tip: With 20–40 drivers and one day, go for heats + finals; for a whole season, a championship with points by finishing position.

Karting and motorsport – FAQ

How are championship races scored?

You set the points by finishing position yourself – for example 25-18-15 as in Formula 1 or your own scale – and the championship standings are recalculated after every event.

Can it handle a corporate karting tournament with 30 drivers?

Yes. Split the drivers into heats by track capacity, the best advance to the final and the results are on screen right away – ideal for team building.

Can I enter lap times too, not just finishing positions?

Yes. In a race you enter the best lap time or total time, the system ranks the drivers and shows the gaps to the winner.

How much does it cost?

The basics are free – you can create and run a race, championship or tournament at no charge.
