RHYTHM GAMES
TOURNAMENTS, LEAGUES AND RACES ONLINE

Organising an osu! tournament, a Beat Saber competition or a community rhythm game league? Blyzer makes the organisation easier, from player registration, through score-based qualifiers, to a 1v1 mappool bracket, results and rankings. Rhythm games are played for score, accuracy and combo – on PC (osu!, osu!taiko, osu!mania), in VR (Beat Saber) and on consoles and mobile. Blyzer handles high score competitions and classic elimination tournaments alike.

Works for osu! community tournaments, Beat Saber VR events, school competitions and LAN parties – PC, VR, console and mobile.

Why organise rhythm games on Blyzer?

Player registration

Players sign up via a link with their in-game name and rank, you just confirm the starting list or seeding.

Score competition

Players record their score or accuracy on the chosen map and Blyzer ranks them – ideal for qualifiers.

1v1 mappool bracket

A single or double elimination bracket like the osu! World Cup – seeding by qualifiers and automatic progression.

Leagues and seasons

Weekly rounds with a new map or mappool, running standings and an archive of all results.

Most popular rhythm game tournament and league formats

Rhythm games have two worlds: high score competitions and 1v1 battles on a mappool. Blyzer handles both – pick a format and set it all up in the wizard in a few minutes.

Race / score competition

Players sign up individually, play the assigned map (or set of maps) and record their score or accuracy. Ranked by highest result – the classic Beat Saber leaderboard competition or osu! qualifier, with no match schedule.

How to: Create race → Configure → scoring (more = better) → open registration → players record scores before the deadline.

1v1 single-elimination bracket

1v1 battles on maps from the mappool – lose a series (e.g. BO7, first to 4 wins) and you're out. Seeding by qualifier score, the same format as the osu! World Cup.

How to: Create tournament → Configure → no groups, play-off only → Seed players → Generate bracket.

Double elimination

Every player gets two chances – after the first loss they continue in the losers' bracket. The standard for osu! community tournaments, where one bad day shouldn't decide the whole competition.

How to: Create tournament → Configure → double-elimination play-off → Generate bracket.

Groups + play-off

Players are split into groups, play a 1v1 series against everyone in the group and the best advance to the bracket. A clear format for 8 to 32 players when you want to give everyone more matches.

How to: Create tournament → Configure → number of groups and qualifiers → Generate groups → Generate play-off.

Long-term league

A multi-week season – a new map or a scheduled 1v1 round every week, standings with points. For Discord communities, VR arcades and school clubs.

How to: Create league → Configure → number of rounds and players → Generate schedule → enter results as you go.

How does it work for rhythm games?

  1. Create a tournament, league or score competition

In the wizard, set the game (osu!, Beat Saber, other), the format – score competition, 1v1 bracket or league – and the number of players.

  2. Invite players

Send a registration link – players state their in-game name and rank; announce the mappool or assigned map in the description.

  3. Record results

In a score competition, players record their own result; in 1v1, you record the series score – Blyzer instantly recalculates the rankings and bracket.

For organisers

Less admin in spreadsheets, more time for playing. Players and spectators see the current leaderboard, bracket and round schedule – on the web and on mobile.

  • Registration via linkPlayers sign up themselves, you just confirm.
  • LeaderboardScores and accuracy ranked automatically.
  • 1v1 bracketSeeding and progression generated automatically.
  • Live resultsRankings and bracket for spectators and your stream.

Rhythm games – FAQ

How do I verify the scores players record?

We recommend asking for a screenshot or a link to the replay or profile in the competition description (osu! scores are public, Beat Saber via ScoreSaber/BeatLeader). The organiser can adjust a recorded result.

Can I combine a score-based qualifier with a bracket?

Yes. Create a score competition as the qualifier and use its ranking to seed players into a single or double elimination bracket.

Do other rhythm games besides osu! and Beat Saber work too?

Yes – Taiko, osu!mania, Guitar Hero, Clone Hero, Dance Dance Revolution or mobile rhythm games. As long as the game produces a score or allows a 1v1 battle, it works.

How do I handle a tie on equal scores?

In the configuration you choose a tie-breaker – for example accuracy, combo or the earlier submission. In a 1v1 series there are no ties, you play to a set number of wins.

How much does it cost?

The basics are free – you can create and run a tournament, league or score competition at no charge.

Ready to organise an osu! or Beat Saber tournament?
