Why organise sim racing on Blyzer?

Driver registration

Drivers sign up via a link with their in-game name, car and race number – you just confirm the entry list.

Placement points

After every race, record the finishing order and Blyzer awards points from your table (e.g. F1 scoring) and recalculates the championship.

Season calendar

A multi-round championship – a different track every round, running standings for drivers and teams.

Time trials

A competition for the fastest lap – drivers record their time and are ranked from fastest to slowest.

Most popular sim racing competition formats

Sim racing isn't about matches but about finishing order and placement points. Pick a format and Blyzer totals the points, championship standings and time trial rankings – you can set it all up in the wizard in a few minutes.

Race / points-based competition

A single race or race night: drivers sign up individually, after the race you record the finishing order and Blyzer awards placement points. Ranked by points, with no match schedule – the basic format for iRacing, ACC and Gran Turismo.

How to: Create race → Configure → placement points → open registration → record the finishing order after the race.

Time trial

Every driver races alone against the clock – they record their fastest lap from hot lap mode and are ranked from fastest to slowest. Ideal for league qualifiers, week-long challenges or corporate simulator events.

How to: Create race → Configure → best time (less = better) → open registration → drivers record times before the deadline.

Championship / long-term league

A multi-round season like a real championship – a different track every round, placement points, drivers' and teams' standings, dropping the worst result. For iRacing and ACC leagues, GT7 communities and F1 leagues.

How to: Create league → Configure → number of rounds and drivers → Generate calendar → enter the finishing order after every race.

Qualifying groups + final

Too many drivers for one server? Split them into qualifying groups (splits), each races its own race and the best advance to the final race. The same format as the Gran Turismo World Series.

How to: Create tournament → Configure → number of groups and qualifiers → Generate groups → record the finishing order → Generate final.

1v1 single-elimination bracket

Duels between two drivers on one circuit – whoever crosses the line second is out. An attractive format for LAN events on simulators, where spectators watch every duel live.

How to: Create tournament → Configure → no groups, play-off only → Seed drivers → Generate bracket.

Not sure which format to pick?

Our guides include recommended points tables (F1, iRacing), tips on splitting drivers by rating and on handling penalties and protests.

Tip: For a single evening, go for a race with points; over several weeks, a championship; for qualifying, a time trial.

How does it work for sim racing?

  1. Create a race, championship or time trial

In the wizard, set the game (iRacing, ACC, GT7…), the format and placement points or time measurement.

  2. Invite drivers

Send the registration link to your Discord – drivers state their in-game name, car and race number; announce the server settings in the description.

  3. Record results

After the race, record the finishing order or let drivers record their times – Blyzer instantly recalculates the points, championship standings and rankings.

Sim racing – FAQ

Which games can I use?

Any – iRacing, Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Gran Turismo 7, F1, rFactor 2, Forza Motorsport and Automobilista. Blyzer handles entries, points and rankings; the race itself runs on your server or in an in-game lobby.

How do I set up F1-style scoring?

When configuring the race, choose placement points – for example 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1 – and optionally a bonus point for fastest lap. Blyzer totals the season.

Can I keep both drivers' and teams' standings?

Yes. Drivers can register as part of a team, so next to the drivers' standings you also see the Constructors' Cup.

How do I handle penalties and protests?

The organiser can adjust the finishing order or deduct points after the race – the result is then recalculated automatically.

How much does it cost?

The basics are free – you can create and run a race, time trial or a whole championship at no charge.
